> When Google Said they Wanted All the Data They Meant It
DuckDuckGo having a go at Google over the privacy labels in the App Store for Google’s Search and Chrome apps:
After months of stalling, Google finally revealed how much personal data they collect in Chrome and the Google app. No wonder they wanted to hide it. Spying on users has nothing to do with building a great web browser or search engine. We would know (our app is both in one).
You really have to go look at DuckDuckGo’s tweet to believe it. We all know we’re tracked, especially by Google and Facebook, but this is just incredible. To see it in such stark terms like this is just… Wow.
Firefox had a pretty fun tweet as well.
Given what the ones for Chrome, Search, Gmail, and YouTube look like so far I’m really curious / incredibly scared to see what the one for Google Maps is going to look like.
